At She Speaks Science we believe in the power of community and that whoever you are, someone is looking up to you.
So we launched PENTA, our 5-month mentorship programme with a twist: it’s a two-way model so as a member you will be both a mentor and a mentee. This enables inspiration, knowledge and insight to cascade from our executive level mentors all the way down to school student mentees.
33 women and girls who are professionals in industry and academia, and university and school students started on PENTA’s journey of motivation, creation and inspiration on 11 Feb.
They come from 23 different countries and were selected from 5 regions (Africa, Latin & North America, Middle East, Europe, Asia) through a very competitive process. To them PENTA is vehicle for empowerment and a chance to meet other females in STEM, learn from their mentor’s experiences, and offer their guidance and support to their mentees.
